Kamryn Cruise, heels dance instructor

Her Story

Meet Kamryn

Kamryn Cruise is a dancer, performer, and instructor with a background in ballet, jazz, and Latin dance. Her teaching style blends technique, musicality, artistry, and confidence in a way that helps dancers feel stronger, more expressive, and more connected to their movement.

She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Dance, and has performed and trained internationally. She danced on the Play Studio Dance Team, where she trained and worked alongside Janelle Murphy. Today she competes as a Latin Am/Am competitor and finalist.

She has never stopped being a student. Kamryn trains in Latin at D-Space Academy with Dmitry Dmytrenko, and with Sarah Nolan of Brooklyn DanceSport Club LA. In New York she trains at Fusion Exercise NYC and studies precision dance under world-renowned coach Rhonda Malkin.

Her approach to heels is supportive but elevated, and it comes back to the same three things every week: connect to the body, feel the music, express the art. Choreography is how you get there.

Training & Experience

The work behind the choreography.

Embodiment comes from years of technique. Musicality comes from years of listening. Artistry comes from years of having something to say. This is where hers were built.

Education

Bachelor of Arts, Dance

A full degree in dance: the anatomy, history, and craft underneath the movement, not just the steps.

Foundation

Ballet, Jazz & Latin

Three disciplines that teach three different things: line, groove, and partnership. Heels borrows from all of them.

International

Performed & Trained Abroad

International performance and training experience. Time spent in rooms that raise the standard of what a class can feel like.

Company

Play Studio Dance Team

A member of the Play Studio Dance Team, where she trained and worked with Janelle Murphy.

Competition

Latin Am/Am Competitor & Finalist

Still on the competitive floor, which is why she teaches performance from the inside rather than in theory.

Latin Coaching

Dmitry Dmytrenko

Ongoing Latin training at D-Space Academy in Poway, the same studio Siren Heels calls home.

Coaching

Sarah Nolan

Training with Sarah Nolan of Brooklyn DanceSport Club LA.

New York

Fusion Exercise NYC

Conditioning and training in New York. The strength work that makes heels sustainable instead of punishing.

Precision

Rhonda Malkin

Precision dance training with world-renowned coach Rhonda Malkin, where clean lines and exact timing get built.

Teaching Philosophy

Supportive room. Elevated standard.

Kamryn’s class is built on the idea that confidence is a skill rather than a personality trait, and that skills can be taught. Embodiment, musicality, and artistry are the three things she keeps coming back to.

Confidence is built, not faked

Presence comes from knowing what your body is doing. Technique first, attitude follows. That order matters.

Movement quality over volume

One phrase danced well beats eight rushed. Control, weight, and timing are the whole point of heels.

Performance, not just choreography

You learn to perform the material, not only remember it: where to look, how to finish a line, how to hold a moment.

Feminine expression, your version

Sensual, sharp, playful, powerful. Heels has room for all of it. Kamryn coaches your interpretation rather than a copy of hers.

Strength makes it sustainable

Heels asks a lot of the ankles, core, and legs. Conditioning is part of the craft, so you can dance hard without paying for it later.

Beginner-friendly, genuinely

No experience needed and no one watching to judge. The room is warm, the pace is kind, and everyone is figuring something out.
